The best time for the Phaplu Everest Base Camp Trek-19 Days is Spring i.e. (from March to May) or during autumn i.e. (September to December) the temperature in these seasons guarantees promising and breathtaking views. During the trip some of the natural and artificial problems like weather, local politics, and flight delays etc. which are beyond our control can make the change in our itinerary. If it happens we will decide for the best alternative taking into consideration the interest of the whole group. We will do everything to minimize its effect, but we cannot be responsible for the result of change or delays. We can also organize helicopter rescue as per request of the clients in delays of flight. The helicopter charges around USD 3500 and it can lift up to 4-5 persons per flight. Please note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight etc.) included in the package that you would use later.
Accommodations
Our accommodation will be in 3 star hotel in Kathmandu and will be staying in tea houses and lodges during the trek as per availability. All accommodations are on twin share basis. If you want single supplement it will cost an additional charge. Actual adventure team will manage rooms with attached washrooms, except in some of the tea houses having shared washrooms and toilet facilities. However single rooms are provided only as per the availability because it may not be available at the higher elevations.
Meals
All meals will be provided during our trek including welcome and farewell dinners in Kathmandu. The meals during our stay in Kathmandu will be provided in high class typical Nepali restaurants which serve you with delicious Nepali cuisines whereas we will have our breakfast and dinner in the tea houses/ lodges on trek. We will spend the night and lunch on our way to the next destination. We will serve you with local foods or the foods according to your preference and availability.
Physical condition & Requirements
The Phaplu to Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary is designed for trekkers having good health and average physical fitness. It is a moderate trek. This trek is specially designed for the travelers with past hiking experience and who can walk up to 6-7 hours a day. Although, there is no experience required. It is best if you start preparing for the trek a month before by doing exercise and maintaining proper diet. If you have any physical conditions then you should inform to actual adventure team before the trek.

After your arrival on Kathmandu our representatives will be there waiting to give you a hearty welcome to Nepal with your name card. You will be taken to hotel by our representatives. After you freshen up our guide will tour you to the Kathmandu city. You will visit the different world heritage sites and different cultural and historical monuments that are located in the city. At the evening we will serve you with warm welcome dinner wishing you good luck for your adventurous journey at a well known Nepali restaurant.

On our 2nd day after having healthy breakfasts we will take an early morning scenic flight to Phaplu. The views from the plane are amazing and beautiful. Phaplu is a small airport of Solukhumbu district. After landing in Phaplu we will introduce with the rest of our team members and trek to Takshindo Goma. We will have our lunch on our way. Our overnight stay will be in Phaplu.

On our third day we will wake up early in the morning, have our breakfast and continue our journey. We will follow the trial of Chiwang and Phera which leads us through a lush forest of rhododendron and pine tree with pleasant sounds of birds singing. We will pass through a large suspension bridge over the Dudh Khola at 2510m. Following the trial we will reach to Ringmo; which is a Sherpa village with apple, peach and apricot orchards trees. We will have our lunch during the journey and dinner at the lodge where we will be staying.

On our 4th day we will have an early morning breakfast and continue our journey. We will be heading towards lush of beautiful rhododendron and pine forest. We will follow the steeply trial up to Tragshindo La, (a pass separating the Solu from the Khumbu). Following the trial of Dudhkoshi River our descent continues through fields of barley, wheat and maize to the Rai village of Jubling. The path of terraced fields and forest will lead us to the village of Khari Khola. Our overnight will be in Khairi Khola.

On our 5th day we will have our breakfast in Khairi Khola. It is one of the best-loved towns among the route. Here we can see the houses made up of stones and having thatched roofs. We can also see the lodges of typical Sherpa architecture. The path from Kharikhola to Puiyan is comparatively difficult due to ups and downs. We will make a steep climb to Bupsa. During our journey we will get to spot the terraced fields below the huge forest. The ups and downs of the trial will virtually take us to Puiyan ascending through Sherpa villages and forest full of monkeys. Our overnight stay will be in Puiyan.

We will have an early morning breakfast in Puiyan and we will follow the trial climbing up to a ridge at 2800m. After a short walk from there we will reach to another ridge to Lukla airport. We will get to see the mesmerizing views of Mt Nupla (5,885m), Kusum Kangaru (6367m) and the Mount Kwongde Range. We will cross a beautiful Cheplung village and our trial will lead us to Phakding.

On our 7th day after having breakfast we will start our journey where our trial passes through a beautiful pine forest and we will continue our walk on a trial that goes north up the Benkar valley following the banks of Dudh Koshi River. We cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass Chumoa and Monjo village before reaching the entrance of Everest National Park. Then after crossing suspension bridge, we pass Jorsale village and walk alongside of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River. We ascend on a step trial and reach the biggest town in the Everest region i.e. Namche Bazaar. It is also the major economic hub for people of Khumbu region. We will be staying overnight witnessing beautiful Namche Bazaar.

Our 8th day will be acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. We will wake up early in the morning at 6, freshen up have breakfast and then we will tour to the primary town of the Everest region which is Namche Bazaar. It also has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and colorful markets. Overall this market is one of the major economic hubs of Khumbu region. We will spend our whole day hiking to the places that are near to the areas. We can hike up to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise over Himalayas’. We will also visit the Hillary School and monasteries. It will help our body to acclimate the lower content of oxygen in the air. Our overnight stay will be on Namche Bazaar.

On our 9th day after having breakfast in Namche Bazaar we will have our breakfasts and will move towards Phhunki. The trek until Phunki is not very difficult. After reaching Phunki we will ascend towards the biggest monastery which is Tengbboche Monastery which lies in Tengboche village. The UNESCO world heritage site Sagarmatha National Park is also located here; we can enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas which the monastery is blessed with. The Himalayas including Mt.Everrest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku can be viewed from here. The Monastery opens at 3:00pm, so if we reach thereby 3 o’clock we can observe the Buddhist religious ceremony. We will be staying overnight in Tengoboche.

On our 10th day of trek we will pass through overgrown forest of birch, confer and rhododendron trees. We will be exploring the magnificent views of Mt.Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Here we will walk downhill to Debuche and cross the Imja River to Pangboche Monastery. We will be walking around the Imja valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche. This beautiful village gives amazing pictures of Himalayan agriculture and animal husbandry. We can have amazing views of beautiful barely, potato, and buckwheat fields along with animals grazing along those fields. Our overnight stay will be on Dingboche.

Our 11th day will be acclimatization day in a Sherpa village called Dingboche. It is located in Chukung Valley. After having breakfast we will trek towards Chukung valley which is not very difficult. We will have our lunch here. This valley is famous for remarkable views of mountains such as Makalu, Lhotse, Chalotse, and Ama Dablam. Moreover we will also get to see the beautifully arranged fields with stone walls in order to protect the seasonal crops from cold winds and grazing animals. After this remarkable short trek we will then go back to Dingboche. We will have our dinner here and our overnight stay will be on Dingboche.

On our 12th day of the trek after having lite and healthy breakfast we will bid a goodbye to our lodge owner and head towards Lobuche. After approximately two hours trek we will reach to Thugla. There we will take a rest for sometime by having some hot drink. We can see the high mountains getting closer to us as we proceed towards Lobuche. On our trek to Lobuche we will climb up to steep hill where we can see the Everest Memorial which is a memorial for the climbers who have lost their life while attempting to summit Mount Everest. As we continue our trial to the Khumbu Glacier moraine we will be facing several great peaks. After 5-6 hours trek from Dingboche we will reach to Lobuche. Our today’s overnight stay will be on Lobuche.

On the 13th day of our trek we will visit Everest Base Camp through the trial of Gorak Shep Lake. We will be following the trial straight ahead which will take us across the Indian Army mountaineers memorials. The walk here is tough and misleading due to thin air in the high altitude. It is very important to follow our guide otherwise we may miss the trial. . There will be strenuous walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp. As we reach to the base camp at 5365m, we will enjoy the amazing view of Khumbu icefall. Moreover the Everest Base Camp itself is incredibly beautiful. The mesmerizing views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains from the base camp are so alluring. We will return back to Gorak Shep for the night. Our overnight stay will be on a guest house of Gorakshep.

On the 14th day of our trek we will have an early breakfast in Gorakshep. After having breakfast we will be heading towards the best view point on the earth which is Kalapatthar. From there we can grasp the remarkable view of the Mt. Everest. The views from Kalapatthar are outstanding. It will give us that heavenly pleasure we might have never thought having off. We will have our lunch there and will return back to Pherice. Our overnight stay will be on Pherice. On a guest house.

Today on our 15th day of the trek we will wake up early in the morning and start our journey by following the trials of beautiful juniper and rhododendron trees and crossing the bridge of Dudh Koshi river we will move downwards loosing almost 2,000ft of elevations. Leaving the beautiful mountains behind us we can also spot mountain goats, pheasants and other wild animals and birds habitual to the area. We will ultimately reach Sansa from where we will witness mesmerizing views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse mountains. We will arrive back to Namche and our overnight stay will be there.

Today we will have our last day on mountains. There will be mostly a downhill trek on a trial along the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. We will trek toward the Hillary Suspension bridges, and also pass by several monasteries and villages before reaching Lukla. After reaching Lukla we will take rest and spend some quality time remembering all those bittersweet reminiscence of the journey. Our overnight stay will be on best available lodge in Lukla

On our 17th day bidding a goodbye to Everest region we will take a flight to Kathmandu from Lukla airport along with the glimpses of the mountains we have recently visited. Our overnight stay will be in Kathmandu.

Today will be our last day in Kathmandu. Our guide will tour you to the city to some of the world heritage sites and other historical and cultural monuments. Is travel insurance compulsory?
We highly recommend trekkers to have travel insurance. But its not that compulsory. With insurance you can trek without any worries.
Can I obtain the visa for Nepal upon on Kathmandu arrival and how?
Yes. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you will easily obtain a visa by processing some formalities. Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 30 days can be obtained by paying the USD 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Likewise, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days can be attained by paying USD 100.
What do I need to obtain Nepal visa?
To get your visa for Nepal, you require the following documents:
