Your incredible journey begins with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, one of the world’s most thrilling mountain airstrips. The 30-40 minute scenic flight offers breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayas, including glimpses of Mount Everest on clear days. After landing at Lukla, you’ll meet your porter and begin your trek. The trail gently descends through the village of Chheplung, crosses suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, and passes through small Sherpa settlements before reaching Phakding. This short trek helps your body ease into the altitude.
Trek Duration: 3–4 hours
Overnight: Teahouse in Phakding
After breakfast, you’ll continue north along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge. The trail enters Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where permits will be checked. From Jorsalle, the trail ascends steeply through forests of pine and rhododendron, leading you to Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region. Namche offers your first clear views of Everest, Lhotse, and Kusum Kanguru if weather permits.
Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar
This day is dedicated to acclimatization to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. You can take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880 m) for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other surrounding peaks. Alternatively, visit Khumjung village or the local Sherpa museum in Namche. Light activity helps with acclimatization while still allowing you plenty of time to relax.
Optional Hike Duration: 2–3 hours
Overnight: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar
After breakfast, you leave Namche behind and follow a gently rolling trail with stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. After descending to the river at Phunki Tenga, you’ll climb steadily through lush rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche. Upon arrival, visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, offering spiritual serenity and unmatched mountain views.
Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Teahouse in Tengboche
Today, the trail continues downhill through Debuche and crosses the Imja Khola. You’ll pass through Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa villages in the region, with incredible views of Ama Dablam looming above. After crossing the river, the trail climbs steadily, taking you above the tree line and into the alpine zone, eventually reaching Dingboche — a beautiful village surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
Overnight: Teahouse in Dingboche
This is one of the most exciting and challenging days of the trek. You begin your ascent towards Lobuche, gradually climbing alongside the Khumbu Glacier and the climbers' memorials at Thukla Pass. After reaching Gorakshep, you’ll drop your bags and continue your trek to Everest Base Camp. Walking along the glacier’s edge and rocky moraine, you eventually arrive at Base Camp — standing at the foot of the world's tallest peak. After enjoying this incredible achievement and taking photos, you return to Gorakshep for the night.
Trek Duration: 7–8 hours
Overnight: Teahouse in Gorakshep
After breakfast, you board a scenic helicopter for your return flight to Kathmandu.
