After immersing in the Everest region's beauty and acclimatizing to the high-altitude environment, the expedition continues towards Island Peak. Island Peak, standing at 6,189 meters (20,305 feet), offers a thrilling climbing experience with its glaciated terrain and spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Ascending Island Peak requires mountaineering skills and the use of ropes, crampons, and ice axes. The combination of these two adventures allows trekkers to experience the grandeur of Everest and go beyond, challenging themselves with a moderate-level peak climb, making it a memorable and comprehensive Himalayan expedition.

Today we will wake up very early in the morning around 1 am and we will be heading to climb the island peak. We will have to reach to the summit by noon because afternoon the strong winds in the highland may be an obstacle to our successful summit. Our trail moves up several hundred meters before we strike up to a steep trial.  As we ascend our steps to climb up to hill we will climb through rock gully. The trial is not so difficult but we have to climb several short steps before we emerge on the right side of the gully. We will then follow ridge line which will take us to an exhilarating and exposed traverse onto the snout of the summit glacier. Here our guide will fix a rope whenever it is needed. Following a snowy slope we will reach onto the summit of the ridge. We will use fix rope after successfully climbing to the summit. The length of the rope depends upon the season and crevasses. After reaching to the summit we will find our self standing beneath the beautiful mountains above the ocean of clouds. FAQs

The distance between Everest Base Camp (EBC) and the peak of Mount Everest, which stands at 8,848 meters (29,029 feet), is approximately 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) in a straight line. However, it's important to note that Everest Base Camp itself is not located at the summit of Everest. EBC serves as a temporary camp for mountaineers during their ascent and is situated at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet). The journey from EBC to the summit involves traversing challenging and technical terrain, including the Khumbu Icefall, the Western Cwm, the Lhotse Face, and the Hillary Step. Climbers must navigate these sections while acclimatizing to the extreme altitude and facing the inherent risks associated with high-altitude mountaineering. The distance covered and the difficulty of the climb from EBC to the summit make it a demanding and arduous endeavor that requires extensive preparation, experience, and mountaineering skills.

It's an adventure that combines the joy of trekking to Everest's legendary base camp with the thrill of summiting a Himalayan peak, making it a truly memorable and fulfilling experience for trekkers and mountaineers alike.

The best seasons for Everest Base Camp with Island Peak climbing are generally considered to be the spring season (March to May) and the autumn season (September to November). During spring, the weather is relatively stable with mild temperatures, clear skies, and longer daylight hours. The trail is adorned with blooming rhododendrons, adding beauty to the landscape. In autumn, the weather remains stable with excellent visibility, cooler temperatures, and less rainfall. This season offers a festive atmosphere and is considered the peak climbing season.
