Namchhe

Namche Bazaar is one of the major economic hub of Khumbu region. It is a small town which is also known as Sherpa capital. This market is an example of how tourism can play a vital role in tourism development. There you can find several restaurants, banks, shops and markets. It is quite surprising to see a town which is accessible only through air flights or numerous days of walks has every type of consumer products. The prices of products are expensive though. Namche Bazaar is a home to most of the Sherpa’s belonging to tourism industry. The cafes in Namche Bazaar provide internet facilities. You can also find ATM machines and other facilities. Namche Bazaar is popular among the trekkers for altitude acclimatization. They held a weekly market every Saturday mornings where they sell clothing and cheap Chinese consumer goods.
